WEB OF TRACES I
52”x64”inch, acrylic on canvas, 2006

Like a spider spinning a web, my movements of putting make-up on my face are transformed into a web of traces on canvas. Representing space and tracing my movement provide the evidence that I was there. “Being here” speaks to not only my physical existence in a space, but also to my psychological existence as a record of human experience.

ORCHESTRA OF TRACES I

Each line of traces was a note of the moment and entangled knots of traces were orchestra of the accumulate time. A midnight was the time to listen to all sounds of traces in daytime.
